Background
A neighbor's doorbell footage of our street ended up in a viral group, faces and plates exposed. No malice, just frictionless sharing. I rebuilt my setup: local NVR, per-camera encryption, and strict retention. The result was peace of mind and fewer leaks. Privacy done right improved reliability, not just optics.
Perspective
I default to local storage, open standards, and on-device AI over cloud dependencies.
